Infants and young children can become easily dehydrated and parents and guardians need to be advised about children wearing cool clothing and drinking enough fluids for the conditions. In the event of diarrhoea occurring, oral rehydration solution (ORS) is needed and the use of ORS should be explained to parents and guardians. Commercially available ORS should be included in the medical kits of those travelling with children. ORS is widely used and may be available in-country from reliable sources whilst travelling.
