In the period of 1989-2006, 16 disasters were reported in Macedonia (14 natural and 2 technological). Incidence of occurrence of disaster shows steadily increasing trend, while death is following decreasing trend. Macedonia is vulnerable to flood and floods contributed to 44 per cent of the total hazards. The number of technological hazards (transport accident events) and extreme temperature hazards stands next to floods.
