Preparations for
any widespread epidemic will require development of plans and procedures to immunize of
vaccinate large numbers of people. We have not done mass immunizations in this country
since the “swine flu” epidemic more than 20 years ago. Public health departments are no longer equipped to mount such campaigns, nor do we have the staff or resources to do so… depending instead on instead on delivering prophylactic services thorough private practices, nursing associations, or even National Guard Units activated by the governor. |
