Twofold methodology:

Firstly a review of the literature to define a picture as complete as possible of the major advancements in child health research since 1990: browsing through all the databases and chose Medline as the most representative.

=> proceeded by combination of 2 main keywords, child and developing countries with as set of other keywords such as diarrhoeal diseases, breastfeeding.

Also compiled grey literature, reports produced by key institutions.

Second strategy : perform a survey in order to collect data on the perception of field actors related to child health needs in developing countries and the reality of their research activities.
