Introduction

Almost everyone assumes that health insurance will solve most of the problems concerning access to services and that it should greatly reduce or eliminate disparities in services between more and less advantaged children. In this presentation, that notion is dispelled as we consider what also needs to be done to equalize health services for all children: assure a medical home for all children.

In doing so, we will consider the following:

1. What increases the likelihood of a medical home?

2. Why is a medical home important?

3. What constitutes a good medical home?
