The Bibliotheca Alexandrina (BA) is proudly organizing the fourth biennial international conference "BioVisionAlexandria 2008" that will be held 12-16 April 2008 in Alexandria, Egypt.

Since 2004, BioVisionAlexandria has been held every even year in Alexandria, Egypt, alternating with BioVision - The World Life Sciences Forum which started in 1999 in Lyon, France and takes place every odd year. Both conferences aim to blend new and old ideas, inventions, and knowledge as well as scrutinize the implications and the potential applications of Life Sciences.

The overriding theme of the 2008 conference is “From Promises to Practice” and seeks  to address the reasons why the immense advances taking place in science do not adequately translate into noticeable improvements in the lives of the poorest 20% of humanity.

Numerous Nobel Laureates, distinguished keynote speakers, eminent scientists and Ministers of Health and Agriculture from the four corners of the globe will attend the conference, all aiming to establish constructive dialogues on Health, Food, Agriculture, Industry and Environment, as well as exchange remarkable information in the biotechnology field. 

Alongside this significant event, the Bibliotheca Alexandrina will be organizing an exhibition entitled BioFair@BioVisionAlexandria2008. BioFair will offer a unique platform for top biotechnology, agricultural, environmental, pharmaceutical and publishing companies to meet with key research and business development executives.

We anticipate at least 1000-1500 attendees from different countries, such as France, Germany, Japan, UK, USA, the Middle East and many more.

You are cordially invited to participate in the BioFair@BioVisionAlexandria2008 that will be held at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina Conference Center, Alexandria, Egypt during the period 12 -16 April 2008.
