Mrs Elena Sachez
The Science Counsellor for the EC Delegation in Cairo since April 2006. Her main role is to promote Science and Technology cooperation between EU and Egypt.
Before this posting, she was working in the European Commission Headquarters in Brussels in the Directorate General for Research where she was in charge of international cooperation activities within the area of Agriculture, Food and Biotechnology Research (2001-2006). Prior to that position, she was working for more than eight years on Agriculture Policy related issues at EU level in Brussels. She was in the EC negotiation team for accession of the 10 new countries to the EU till 2001.
Mrs Sachez gained a Bachelor Degree in Law and Business Administration from Spain in 1991, Master Degree in Development Studies from UCL, Belgium as well as Master Degree in International Trade from Spain.
