Center for Special Studies and Programs (CSSP), a research center established in July 2003 in the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, aims to play a significant role in the progress of science and technology in Egypt. The CSSP will help researchers and scientists to get the best support needed to advance their work through international collaborations.

Call for Applications

You are invited to submit an abstract for presentation in the Poster Session, which will be held in the BVA 2018 among a wide range of eminent scientists and specialists. Your poster should address related subjects in the fields of Health, Environment or Agriculture, in response to SDGs.

TWAS/BioVisionAlexandria.NXT 2018 “Science Diplomacy: Voices of the South”

Call for Applications

TWAS/BioVisionAlexandria.NXT 2018 will be the fifth BioVisionAlexandira.NXT to be organized in Alexandria, Egypt. It intends to explore the importance of science diplomacy to the young scientists in the developing world.

The event will be held on 18–19 April 2018, where TWAS/BVA.NXT 2018 participants will be offered the opportunity to meet policy makers, experts, academics and young promising scientists from the South to provide them with the needed skills to build their own capacities and help them in the advancement of their developing countries.

Best young scientists will have the opportunity to present their innovative ideas and their impact on the development of societies in the event. Furthermore, they will be invited to participate in BioVisionAlexandria 2018 Conference (20–22 April 2018, Bibliotheca Alexandrina).
Priority will be offered to the best innovative research, and to research papers that foster science diplomacy efforts.

Deadline for applications: 1 January 2018.

Criteria of Application:

• Applicants should not be older than 35 years of age (by 1 January 2018).

• Applicants should be Master’s, PhD students, or Postdoctoral scholars working in the field of life sciences.

• Applicants should have innovative research papers.

BA/CSSP Research Grants 2015 Winner Announcement

 

In response to the BA/CSSP Research Grants Program 2015, the Center for Special Studies and Programs is glad to announce the BA/CSSP Research Grants Program 2015 winner.

 Dr. Hani Mohammed Mohammed ElZaiat 

Lecturer, Animal Production Department, Faculty of Agriculture, Alexandria University.

Research Title: Impacts of Dietary Phytogenic Substances on Rumen Fermentation, Enteric Methane Emissions and Productivity of Sheep.

Research Field: Agricultural Sciences.


BioVisionAlexandria 2018

It is our pleasure to announce that the Bibliotheca Alexandrina is organizing its ninth International Biennial Conference, BioVisionAlexandria (BVA) 2018, 20–22 April 2018, Alexandria, Egypt; in partnership with World Life Science Forum, BV Lyon.

The theme of BVA 2018 is “New Life Sciences: Towards SDGs”. The Conference will highlight the important role science plays with regards to achieving SDGs. More insights on the science-based decision-making will be introduced and how this affects the developing world. Numerous scientists, leaders, and decision makers will gather to address life sciences’ contribution towards the prosperity of the world. Furthermore, within the framework of BVA 2018, we are pursuing the launch of the first conference on “Robotics and Bio-robotics in Life Sciences” to take place at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina.

During the Conference, numerous distinguished speakers will share their experiences and insights with the large audience, mostly from developing countries.
As usual, we aim at gathering distinguished leaders in science, industry, society, policy-making, media and civil society to explore the different ways in which life sciences can help meet the challenges we face.
