The Center for Islamic Civilization Studies issued the book titled “Tunisian Ceramics: The Andalusian Legacy and Mediterranean Spread”, authored by Clara Ilham Álvarez Dopico, a researcher at Complutense University of Madrid, and translated by Shereen Mahmoud. The book includes topics on the ceramics that were made in the workshops of the old city of Tunis and outside its walls in the suburb of Bab Souika, from the early decades of the seventeenth century to the beginning of the twentieth century.

The book is divided into five chapters. The first chapter deals with historical notes on the ceramics of the city of Tunis. The second chapter studies ceramic inlaying in Tunisia during the Muradid period in the seventeenth century. The third chapter includes Spanish ceramics and Tunisian ceramics: the Morisco link. The fourth chapter is devoted to the Spanish and Andalusian origins of decorations during the period of the Beys of Tunis, while the fifth chapter deals with ceramics from the Nile Delta to the Moroccan cities and their Andalusian influences.
