Abstract: In this article two cases of country attitudes towards the abolition of the death penalty are explored. On the one hand, there is Europe rallying ahead towards abolition of death penalty and managing to make Europe the only region in the world free of death penalty. On the other hand, there is the US, standing firmly on its stand to keep the death penalty in place, not budging amidst widespread calls for its abolition.
