Abstract:
According to economist Eddy Szirmai development in developing countries is impossible without technological innovation. This should be a major focus in development cooperation. Szirmai is Professor of Technology and Development at the Technical University of Eindhoven. In 2005 he published the book 'The dynamics of socio-economic development. An introduction'. In the book he sketches a picture of the current economic world order and the developments that preceded it. This document provides a summary.
