Within the framework of the Young Scientists Training Program, held to provide young scientists with needed skills to advance their career and achieve their professional goals, TWAS-AREP organizes an online workshop with the theme “Biodiversity Towards Sustainable Food Systems in the Arab Region” on 13-14 December 2022.
The workshop will address Biodiversity and Agro-Food Systems, with special emphasis on their inter-correlation with the climate change. It will discuss the Agro-Foods nexus in depth, biodiversity challenges facing Arab countries specially as a consequence of climate change. The workshop will also discuss the importance of education for sustainable development, and the regional challenges faced in this regard by the developing countries, and how the developing countries can deploy the education and research efforts to attain the sustainable development goals.
The workshop will give young researchers under the age of 40 the opportunity to network with experts and researchers from developing counties.
Eligibility Criteria:
•Applicant aged 40 or less.
•Master/PhD students and PhD holder in one of life and natural sciences fields.
•Living/working in developing countries.
•Refugees and displaced scientists living in any country are highly encouraged to apply.
The workshop is free of charge.
