   Biography
 
Amin Ahmed Shoukry was born in Alexandria, Egypt. He obtained his BSc (1973) and MSc (1978) from the Computer Science and Automatic Control Department, Faculty of Engineering, Alexandria University. In 1979, he obtained a diploma in Computer Science from Pierre and Marie Curie University, Paris, France. Next, he joined the AI group at the Informatics Research Center, Nancy, France, where he obtained his Doctor of Engineering degree in 1983. Professor. Shoukry served as the Head of the Computer and Systems Engineering Deprtment, Faculty of Engineering from 2006 to 2009, as the Chairman of the CSE Department at E-JUST (Egypt-Japan University of Science and Technology) from 2010 to 2012. He is currently the Dean of the ECCE (Electronics, Communication and Computer Engineering) school at EJUST. He worked with several academic institutions in Egypt, Saudi Arabia and Lebanon. He received the 1997 Egyptian National Research Academy award in the area of Computer and Operations Research. His areas of interests include Computational Intelligence, Machine learning, Pattern Recognition, Optimization, Image Processing and Computer Vision.
