Presentation Title: In defining the natural domain of the "Arabic": A Revisit of the Metaphor Abstract: In spite of a widely acclaimed recent human origin, we remain tangled to cultural, ethnic and continental zones (European, Western, Asian) as vital domains. National and regional interest are envisioned within such metaphors and boundaries and not by the bonding of mankind, a species with mounting common challenges that threatens its very existence. Here we examine the metaphor of the "Arabic" in relevance to contemporary science and paradigms and from what transpired in human history as a prime judiciary, and show how the "Arab/Arabic" metaphor though often misconstrued in political sense is quite unique in its stretch and ramification over diverse geographical and cultural regions, and how such endowment may inform and affect how we handle the dilemmas of accessing and managing an ever diminishing and scarce resources of today's globe.
