Prof. Khaled M. AbuZeid

Biography:

Prof. AbuZeid holds a BSc in Civil Engineering from Cairo University, and an MSc and PhD in Civil Engineering from Colorado State University. He is a California registered Professional Engineer, and a certified Project Management Professional (PMP). He has over 30 years of experience as the CEDARE Regional Water Director; North African Ministers Council on Water Technical Secretariat Officer in Charge; Arab Water Council Director of Technical Programs; Egyptian Water Partnership Secretary General; Global Water Partnership-East Africa (GWPEA) Chair; and Mediterranean Commission for Sustainable Development Vice-Chair, and as a member of the Arab League?s Council of Water Ministers' Advisory Committee; the Arab Water Security Strategy Advisory Team; the Mediterranean Water Strategy Experts? Group; the Arab Shared Waters Convention Consultative Group; and the High Level Technical Committee of the Transboundary Waters Sector of the NEPAD Program for Infrastructure Development in Africa (PIDA). He was the team leader of the Nile Basin Decision Support System Conceptual Design; Arab State of the Water Reports; the 2012 State of the Water Reports for the Nile Basin and the Nubian Sandstone Aquifer; the Alexandria 2030 Integrated Urban Water Management (IUWM) Strategic Plan; and the 2030 Egypt Wastewater Reuse Strategic Vision. He developed the 2050 Water Resources Policy Options for Egypt, and participated in the development of the Integrated Model for Egypt Water Resources Management, the Nubian Sandstone Aquifer Regional Strategy, and the 2030 San Diego Water Resources Plan.
