"Green Economy: A Road Map for Sustainable Development and Poverty Reduction in the Arab Region" Conference
The World Academy of Sciences for the advancement of science in developing countries' Arab Regional Office (TWAS-ARO) held its 11th Annual Meeting, 16-17 December 2015, at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina. On the occasion of its annual meeting, an inter-disciplinary forum on green economy was held titled: Green Economy: A Road Map for Sustainable Development and Poverty Reduction in the Arab Region.

This forum intended to bring together TWAS-ARO members and young affiliates, along with other distinguished speakers, to discuss the implementation of Green Economy to overcome the barriers faced by the society especially the developing ones. It addressed also how the Green Economy improves the human wellbeing while saving environmental risks and ecological scarcities.

TWAS-ARO is continuing its support for young Arab researchers by holding a poster session, to showcase their researches. TWAS-ARO sponsored 10 outstanding young researchers, from different Arab countries, to present their projects on the use of green economy to maintain sustainable development.

The conference official language is English.

Poster Session

Call for Posters
We cordially invite you to submit an abstract for presentation during the Poster Session that will be held during the Green Economy: A Road Map for Sustainable Development and Poverty Reduction in the Arab Region Conference, 16-17 December 2015, at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina. During the Event, young researchers will be offered the opportunity to meet other young scientists, from different Arab countries, to share their views and benefits from informal discussions with other conference participants. They will also meet renowned scientists, and hear success stories from those who have managed to combat difficulties.

Posters must be set up on the first day of the conference, and will remain on display throughout the conference. Authors must be present at their poster station during the scheduled Poster Session, and prepared for discussion with participants.

Your poster should address subjects related to the use of the green economy for Sustainable Development in the Arab Region.

Application Criteria

The applicant should be:

1. A young researcher, under the age of 40 years.
2. An Arab national citizen and resident of a developing country.
3. MSc or PhD student or post-doctoral researcher, working in the field of Sustainable Human Development.

The participants' applications will be assessed by the Review Committee, and the best 10 posters will be displayed throughout the Conference. TWAS-ARO will cover the registration fees, travel expenses and accommodation costs of the selected best 10 researchers by the Review Committee.

Deadline for abstract submission is extended to 22 October 2015. Please send your CV, a recommendation letter with referee's contacts, and complete the Poster Session Application Form below electronically, save it in the format SURNAME_Initial.doc (e.g.: SMITH_D.doc, if the candidate's name is David SMITH), and send it to Israa.Elfayoumi@bibalex.org, with a (cc) to TWAS.ARO@bibalex.org by 22 October 2015 at the latest.

You will kindly be asked to have your poster prepared according to our Guidelines, in case your poster is accepted by the Review Committee.
