Center for Special Studies and Programs (CSSP), a research center established in July 2003 in the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, aims to play a significant role in the progress of science and technology in Egypt. The CSSP will help researchers and scientists to get the best support needed to advance their work through international collaborations.

The Bibliotheca Alexandrina is organizing BioVisionAlexandria2006 from 26 to 29 April, 2006 in Alexandria . The conference will be a continuation of the tradition that started in BioVision 1999 in Lyon , which aims to bring distinguished speakers in discussions commemorating science and the finest achievements of the human intellect.

This venue will commence with a “Nobel Day”, as so successfully done both in BioVisionAlexandria and in BioVision in Lyon in previous years. The Nobel Day will be dedicated to Nobel laureates and will honor the scientists whose vision and perseverance in the quest for scientific innovation changed lives and transformed our world. This prestigious event which includes some of the greatest minds worldwide will be followed by the three-day conference, BioVisionAlexandria 2006.

The goal of the conference will be to promote the active exchange of biotechnological information, innovation, and new ideas and to encourage constructive dialogue between key players in the development of Life in order to better meet the challenges facing the 21st century with regard to Life Sciences, a vital step towards development and prosperity and changing people"s lives for the better. It will present a unique opportunity for the international community to exchange ideas and develop a common vision for a better future of the sick and the poor. BioVisionAlexandria 2006 will be dedicated to the role of the New Life Sciences in Changing Lives.

In April 2004 experts from all over the world attended BioVisionAlexandria 2004, an international conference, organized in partnership with The World Life Sciences Forum BioVision. The conference was truly a celebration of science and partnerships, founded in a sense of common humanity.

The BioVisionAlexandria Conference is to be held every even year in Alexandria, Egypt and alternates with its sister conference, the World Life Sciences Forum BioVision, which takes place every odd year in Lyon, France. It aims to increase the participation of developing countries, bringing into the Forum the voices of these nations. BioVisionAlexandria not only recognizes the impact that the development of BioSciences can have on the global improvement of Life Quality, but it aspires to instigate them.

BioVisionAlexandria 2006 is to take place from 26-29 April, 2006 in Alexandria and will bring distinguished speakers in discussions commemorating science and the finest achievements of the human intellect to present a unique opportunity for the international community to exchange ideas and develop a common vision for the better future of the sick and the poor.

BioVisionAlexandria2006 Poster Session Registration NOW OPEN !

In the age where advancement in technology is limitless and the Biosciences world is rapidly changing, interaction between worldwide scientific communities is vital. The BioVisionAlexandria 2006 Poster Session will provide a wealth of opportunities for Egyptian scientists, especially young ones, to meet other life sciences professionals and present their work in a setting of discussion and interchange.

The theme of the conference is New Life Sciences: Changing Lives , and the key issues to be addressed in both the Conference and its Poster Session are:

  • Health Discoveries
  • Agri-food and Environment Discoveries
  • From Discoveries to Delivery

Young Egyptian scientists are invited to submit an abstract for presentation during this poster session.
