Center for Special Studies and Programs (CSSP), a research center established in July 2003 in the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, aims to play a significant role in the progress of science and technology in Egypt. The CSSP will help researchers and scientists to get the best support needed to advance their work through international collaborations.

  • THE 2006 TRIESTE SCIENCE PRIZE
THE 2006 TRIESTE SCIENCE PRIZE

TWAS and Illycaffè s.p.a., have instituted high level prizes to honour distinguished scientists from developing countries. The Trieste Town Council and the Trieste International Foundation for Scientific Progress and Freedom are collaborating in this effort.

The Prize has been named Trieste Science Prize in recognition of the unique and fundamental role that the Trieste System of scientific institutions plays in promoting science and technology in the developing world.

The prizes is awarded annually and rotates among the various fields of science.
The first two prizes were awarded in 2005. In 2006, prizes will be awarded in the following two areas:

  • MATHEMATICS
  • MEDICAL SCIENCES
Each prize will carry a monetary award of US$50,000 generously contributed by Illycaffè s.p.a. and a plaque bearing a citation highlighting the major contributions for which the prize is awarded.

The deadline for submission is 31 March 2006.
