Center for Special Studies and Programs (CSSP), a research center established in July 2003 in the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, aims to play a significant role in the progress of science and technology in Egypt. The CSSP will help researchers and scientists to get the best support needed to advance their work through international collaborations.

BA/CSSP Research Grants Program for Egyptian Researchers

The Center for Special Studies and Programs, Bibliotheca Alexandrina offers a number of research grants for Egyptians postdoctoral scientists and researchers in the following scientific fields:

 

                     ·            Agricultural Sciences

                     ·            Biology and Biotechnology

                     ·            Chemistry and Biochemistry

                     ·            Earth Sciences

                     ·            Engineering Sciences and Technology

                     ·            Information Technology and Bioinformatics

                     ·            Mathematics

                     ·            Medical Sciences

                     ·            Pre-University Education

                     ·            Physics and Biophysics

 

Eligibility and Deadlines

 

                     ·            Egyptian scholars who have earned their PhD within the past five years (following December 2010).

                     ·            Applicants must hold a current position at a public/private academic or research institution in Egypt, and the research must be conducted in Egypt.

                     ·            Currently engaged or can arrange to work on a joint research project with foreign counterpart(s) at a university or research center abroad.

                     ·            Applicants must not exceed 35 years of age by January 2016.

                     ·            The maximum duration of the project is 2 years and the maximum budget that can be granted is 75,000 EGP.

 

Applications must be submitted online before 31 July 2016.

BA/CSSP Micro Research Grants 2015

 

The Center for Special Studies and Programs, Bibliotheca Alexandrina offers a number of Micro Research Grants for Egyptian school students seeking funds to finance innovative ideas.

In response to the BA/CSSP Micro Research Grants 2015 call, 39 proposals were submitted from (14) different governorates in the fields of science.

After the review of the Micro Research Grants submitted proposals and the interviews of the top listed candidates, four winners were selected for the BA/CSSP Micro Research Grants 2015.

The winners signed the grant agreement on Thursday, 23 June 2016

2016 Call for applications of the TWAS Fellowships

Application Deadline:  1 July 2016


The TWAS Fellowships programme with over 470 PhD and 150 postdoctoral fellowships available annually in 10 developing countries with 19 programme partners is said to be the largest programme of its kind worldwide.

The 2016 TWAS Postgraduate and Postdoctoral Fellowships call for applications in all fields of the Natural Sciences is now open for majority of the programmes.
