Griefing the Loss of Prof. Adel Mahmoud

We are deeply saddened by the loss of  Prof. Adel Mahmoud, Former President of Merck Vaccines and Professor of Molecular Biology at Princeton University, who had developed several life-saving vaccines.

Prof. Mahmoud contributed with a lot of great medical achievements in the field of Vaccines Production and he is one of the pioneers of the treatment and prevention of infectious diseases in the world. One of the vaccines he developed was to help protect against gastroenteritis caused by the Rotavirus infection, which causes diarrhea to children. He also developed a vaccine for the Shingles viral infection, which causes a painful rash, as well as another one for human papillomavirus, which causes various warts on genitals and other parts and is also associated with the production of cervical cancer.

Prof. Mahmoud gave many talks on how vaccines work  and we were honored to host him during BioVisionAlexandria 2006. May his soul rest in peace.
