Research Grants 2004/2005

01 January 2004 - 01 January 2005

In response to the BA 2004 Research Grants announcement made by the CSSP, 311 researchers applied in the following research areas; Agricultural Sciences, Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry & Biophysics, Earth Sciences, Information Technology, Mathematics, Medical Sciences, Physics & Astronomy, and Engineering Sciences & Technologies. These applications were short-listed to 211 applications, and then to 97.

Final selection was undertaken by an International Review Committee, headed by Dr. Ismail Serageldin, Director of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina. It was based on the project objective, its clarity and originality, as well as the project design and budget.

More than 80 young Egyptian postdoctoral researchers in the fields of Agricultural Sciences, Biology, Biochemistry& Biophysics, Chemistry, Engineering Sciences& Technologies, Earth Sciences, Information Technology, Mathematics, Medical Sciences and Physics& Astronomy have applied for the BA Research Grants offered annually to young Egyptian postdoctoral researchers by the Bibliotheca Alexandrina.

More than 220 young Egyptian postdoctoral researchers in the fields of Agricultural Sciences, Biology, Biochemistry and Biophysics, Chemistry, Engineering Sciences and Technologies, Earth Sciences, Information Technology, Mathematics, Medical Sciences and Physics& Astronomy have applied for the BA Research Grants offered annually to young Egyptian postdoctoral researchers by the Bibliotheca Alexandrina.

The CSSP organized an event to celebrate announcing the 25 top listed candidates through the first phase of the research grants prepared by the Center for Studies and Special Programs (CSSP). The celebration was inaugurated by Dr. Mohamed El-Faham, Director of the CSSP.

Research Grants 2009

The grants cover research in all fields of Natural sciences, Mathematics and Information Technology.

A new field has been added which is the  “Pre-University Education”, and we envision supporting more research areas of which mainly are Social Sciences and Humanities.

The maximum duration of the project is 2 years and the maximum budget that can be granted is 75,000 EGP.

In response to the BA/CSSP 2013 Research Grants announcement made by the Center for Special Studies and Programs (CSSP), 116 proposals were submitted in Agricultural Sciences, Biology & Biotechnology, Chemistry & Biochemistry, Engineering Sciences & Technology, Earth Sciences, Information Technology & Bioinformatics, Mathematics, Medical Sciences Physics & Biophysics, and Pre-University Education. A blind online review process has been used to evaluate each proposal. The Reviewing Committee currently includes 128 international eminent scientist and Nobel Laureates representing all areas of research. Based on the reviewers’ recommendations; top listed candidates were selected to attend BA/CSSP Research Grants 2013 Top Listed Interviews on April 2014

In response to the BA/CSSP 2014 Research Grants announcement made by the Center for Special Studies and Programs (CSSP), 116 proposals were submitted in Agricultural Sciences, Biology & Biotechnology, Chemistry & Biochemistry, Engineering Sciences & Technology, Earth Sciences, Information Technology & Bioinformatics, Mathematics, Medical Sciences Physics & Biophysics, and Pre-University Education.

BA/CSSP Research Grants 2015

In response to the BA/CSSP 2015 Research Grants announcement made by the Center for Special Studies and Programs (CSSP), 151 proposals were submitted in Agricultural Sciences, Biology & Biotechnology, Chemistry & Biochemistry, Engineering Sciences & Technology, Earth Sciences, Information Technology & Bioinformatics, Mathematics, Medical Sciences Physics & Biophysics, and Pre-University Education.

A blind online review process has been used to evaluate each proposal. The Reviewing Committee currently comprises (137) international eminent scientist and Nobel Laureates representing all areas of research.

BA/CSSP Research Grants Program for Egyptian Researchers

The Center for Special Studies and Programs, Bibliotheca Alexandrina offers a number of research grants for Egyptians postdoctoral scientists and researchers
