Regional Action on Climate Change and Future Earth (RACC-FE) Experts Meeting
The Regional Action on Climate Change (RACC) is based on the desirability of all countries to take action to confront the challenges of climate change. While mitigation of greenhouse gas emissions remains an essential objective and activity for humanity's response to climate change, many countries are already feeling the need to act immediately to adapt to these challenges and to increase their resilience in the face of likely negative future impacts.

The RACC is an institutional discussion forum affiliated with the Science and Technology in Society (STS) forum that seeks to discuss strategies and identify actions at the regional and local levels. Such actions will need to be compatible with the global findings of global studies but must also be based on regional analyses to provide the level of detail and granularity that can be useful in guiding this local action.

Therefore, the Bibliotheca Alexandrina (BA) hosted the RACC and Future Earth (FE) Experts' Meeting to discuss the challenges posed by climate change to the world and specifically Egypt. It was a continuation of the first international RACC workshop held outside Japan, which the BA hosted from 22 to 24 February 2015.

The RACC-FE focused on the application of the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction 2015-2030 to the prevailing conditions in various regions of the world-starting with the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) Region, especially the north coast of Egypt where Alexandria is located. From the application of the Sendai principles.
