About Us
As the climate change caught the attention of the world and as a part of Bibliotheca Alexandrina vision and mission in building youth capacities in different fields, Bibliotheca Alexandrina Center for Environmental Studies organize in cooperation with Internews’ Earth Journalism Network the EGY-ECO Writers Project which is a vocational educational training program directed towards young environmental Journalists to establish the Science-Based Media concept, improve their understanding of environmental issues through orientation on the environmental problems especially the Climate Change and its impact on Egypt based on scientific evidence, help them to simplify the scientific information to the public and encourage them to use state of the art media tools. This project aims to create a new generation of future journalists able to obtain, analyze and illustrate authentic information about environmental issues to the public. Project Goals:
1. Training a number of young journalists on better understanding of environmental problems.
2. Participants shall carry out environmental awareness campaigns directed towards school and university students.
3. Bibliotheca Alexandrina Center for Environmental Studies striving to make this project a beacon of environmental journalism in Egypt.
