field visit to Kafr El Sheikh governorate, Northern coast of Nile Delta

One of the most vulnerable areas to sea level rise is Kafr El Shekih governorate, according to the estimations of the UNEP in 1997. Thus, a field visit was organized in 31st December 2015 for the participants to this are to visualize the impacts of climate changes and sea level rising leading to salt water intrusion which became obvious over the years. Also, they observed the changes in cropping systems that farmers follow to adapt to increased soil salinity
