A visit has been organized to Alexandria University Center for Renewable Energy in Wadi El Natroun, in this visit the participants had been introduced to hybrid system from using photovoltaics and wind energy to produce electricity. The center energy unit consists of 60 self-contained concentrated photovoltaic (PV) system and 6 wind turbines of 100 Kw.hr per day total electric capacity. Wadi El Natroun, Beheira governorate
A visit was organized to the Solid wastes Landfill in Al-Hamam City. This landfill consists of 23 cells. This landfill consists of two major areas; northern area and southern area. The northern area includes biogas network area, recycling and composting area, leachate evaporation ponds, biogas to electricity area. South area consists of biogas network area, refuse-derived fuel new line proposal, leachate evaporation ponds and administration area. Only 6 cells can produce 1500 m3 per hour methane gas which can produce about 80 Mw and the 11 cells produce 4500 m3 per hour. Unfortunately, there is no well-established system to trap these amount of methane, therefore, it is not properly used. Al-Hammam city
A visit to ElNassreya Center for Hazardous Wastes Management was organized to demonstrate the process of safe disposal and treatment process for hazardous wastes. A visit to Wadi ElRayan protectorate and ElHitan museum was organized to the programs participants. One of the most vulnerable areas to sea level rise is Kafr El Shekih governorate, according to the estimations of the UNEP in 1997.
