The BA Alexandria Project organizes a lecture entitled "Water-lifting Technologies in Ptolemaic and Roman Egypt", delivered by Dr. Wafaa Ahmed El-Ghannam, Professor of Greco-Roman Archaeology, Faculty of Arts, Tanta University. It is held on Sunday, 23 October 2022, at 1:00 pm, in the BACC Delegates Hall.
The lecture tackles the methods of waterlifting that were used during the Ptolemaic and Roman periods in various fields, particularly in agriculture, through historical and textual evidence (papyrus), as well as other ancient sources.
