The BA hosted the closing ceremony of the “Sixth International Forum of Calligraphy, Writings, and Inscriptions in the World through the Agesˮ (Prehistoric Ages in the Arab World and Africa – Second Round). The forum was organized by the BA Writing and Scripts Center and was held during 2–5 March 2015.

During the closing ceremony, the forum condemned the ongoing destruction of Arab artefacts, especially Iraqi antiquities, and emphasized the importance of preserving these antiquities, specifically the ones that date back to prehistoric eras. Also stressed was the importance of raising awareness of the value of these artefacts as they document the history of each nation. The forum also suggested that a conference titled “Prehistoric Eras in the Arab Worldˮ should be held every two years in an Arab country as a meeting point for Arab specialists in the field.

It is noteworthy that a series of lectures were delivered by specialists during the forum, allowing for an international and regional exchange of expertise and information. The BA Writing and Scripts Center will publish the findings of the latest expeditions documenting prehistoric eras in Arab and African countries as well as discuss the challenges facing prehistoric studies in those areas.
