Dewey Decimal System Course

The BA Educational Services Section is organizing the “Dewey Decimal System” course as part of the International Librarianship Training Program.

This course will help librarians to combine the theoretical approach and the practical application of the Dewey classification system. The course introduces the basic concepts of classification and their development since their establishment. The course will present  the tables of the Dewey Decimal Classification (22nd edition) and will focus on some of the most widely used numbers. Examples will be provided. The course includes some lectures on the scientific and practical methods for understanding book topics in a systematic manner. Some lectures include practical exercises and classifications of subjects, such as literature, folk literature, religion, and Islamic history.

The lectures will be delivered by BA technical management specialists. To register for the course, please visit the International Librarianship Training Program website before Thursday, 16 April 2015. Registration is on a first come, first served basis.
