"Green Economy: A Road Map for Sustainable Development and Poverty Reduction in the Arab Region" Conference

The "Green Economy: A Road Map for Sustainable Development and Poverty Reduction in the Arab Region" conference is organized by the BA Center for Special Studies and Programs in collaboration with the World Academy of Sciences for the Advancement of Science in Developing Countries’ Arab Regional Office (TWAS-ARO) on the occasion of their 11th annual meeting. The conference will be held on 16–17 December 2015 at the BA.

This conference aims to bring together TWAS-ARO members and young research affiliates, along with other distinguished speakers, to discuss the implementation of green economy to overcome the challenges faced by Arab societies, especially the developing ones. It will also address how green economy improves human wellbeing and prosperity, keeping in mind environmental risks and shortage of resources.

TWAS-ARO continues to support young Arab researchers by organizing a session to showcase their research. It will sponsor 10 outstanding young researchers, from different Arab countries, to present their projects on the use of green economy in maintaining sustainable development.
