Three Arts Exhibitions within the BA International Summer Festival

Alexandria—Maestro Sherif Mohieldin, Director of the BA Arts Center, and Dr. Moustafa El-Razaz, Arts Center Advisor, launched on Thursday, 2 July 2009, three arts exhibitions on the occasion of the 8th International Summer Festival.
A group of young artists participate in two of these exhibitions, while artists from all around the world participate in the third exhibition. These Exhibitions are the result of a whole year of preparation, in an effort to activate creative work.
“First Time” Exhibition pays special attention to young artists in the field of plastic arts. A specialized committee has chosen potential aptitudes to nourish the artistic movements with new talents.
In the “Resident Artists” Exhibition, established artists have been invited to reside in the city of Alexandria for a whole month, and attend various BA activities, in order to come up with fresh perspectives and ideas.
As for the “Alexandria International Symposium: Sculpture in Natural Material” Exhibition, eminent artists in the field of 3D mosaic were invited, in an experiment that has not yet been tackled in the contemporary Egyptian artistic scene.
“First Time” and “Resident Artists” Exhibitions are held in the BACC, while “Alexandria International Symposium” takes place at the BA Plaza.
