The BA Planetarium Science Center (PSC) is organizing a series of activities in celebration of the International Science Center and Science Museum Day, which revolves round promoting the importance of having access to reliable, modern, and renewable energy sources.

The one-month program includes a one-day filed trip to a power plant that operates on combined cycle technology and natural gas in Beni Suef. This power plant will be the largest of its kind in the world when it becomes fully operational in 2017. It will provide electricity for around 15 million Egyptians and will contribute to developing nearby villages through providing various job opportunities for numerous citizens. The field trip targets 15–20 year old students.

The program is also organizing a 3–4 days project titled “Clean Energy at Your Doorstep”, which will be executed at two or three houses in rural areas with no access to any clean energy resources. The project will include designing a simple equipment that can light up a house using a thin-film solar panel and a bottle of water. The project will use cheap, renewable, and easily accessible material in order to create a high-quality daylighting system that will provide an accessible and environment-friendly source of electricity.

There will be several school visits within the framework of the program. These visits will include interactive workshops and presentations on renewable energy sources and energy conservation practices. The program is also organizing an event for the general public, set to be held on 10 November. Exhibitions from various organizations and backgrounds will be invited to this event in order to give lectures and conduct workshops to share their success stories in using clean energy.
