Benha University Embassy of Knowledge Participates in “Developing Education in Egypt” Forum

The BA affiliated Embassy of Knowledge at Benha University participated in hosting the “Developing Education in Egypt” Forum, which was held from 22 to 25 February 2017. The forum was held under the slogan “Toward Better Education” and aimed to discuss the development of education in Egypt. The event was attended by Dr. Khalid Abdul Ghaffar, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research; Dr. Tarek Shawky, Minister of Education; and Major General Mahmoud Ashmawy, governor of Qalyubia.

Dr. El-Sayed el-Kady, president of Benha University, stressed that the forum aims to formulate a realistic vision to develop the system of university education. The vision should include the points of view of the various spectrums of society, should be feasible, and should be followed by all the executive, political, societal, youth, and academic authorities and entities that attended the forum. The presence of such a diverse and grand assembly at the forum is vital, as education is a national matter and ... The forum was held as part of Egypt’s endeavor to develop education and scientific research. Benha University took the responsibility to contribute in formulating a comprehensive vision through communicating the points of view of students, faculty members, and civil society organizations to the official authorities.

Several creative workshops were held in light of the forum that aimed to generate various ideas for improving Egypt’s education plan. The activities provided by the BA affiliated Embassy of Knowledge at Benha University also aim to achieve the same objective through providing websites of research material to students and researchers, and through organizing free artistic and educational activities for students in order to nurture and establish a well-educated community free of illiteracy.
