The BA is organizing a lecture titled “The Program Launching of Make Space Yours in Alexandria” to be held on Sunday, 12 March 2017 at 10:00 am in the BACC Great Hall. The lecture will be delivered by Omar Samra, a renowned adventurer and explorer, a future astronaut with XCOR Aerospace, and the first Egyptian to climb Mount Everest, climb the seven summits, and ski to both poles. Mohammed Sallam, the only Egyptian and Arab Mars astronaut candidate, will also be speaking during the lecture.

The public lecture will discuss the “Make Space Yours” program, which is helmed by Samra to encourage school and university students across Egypt to come up with ideas for space experiments for a chance to win valuable prizes.

The event will be held on the sidelines of the Intel Bibliotheca Alexandrina Science and Engineering Fair (Intel BASEF)—a local competition that prepares 14–18 year old students for participating, competing, and winning the Intel ISEF, which takes place every year in the United States of America.
