The BA Celebrates "Open Access Week"

Posted on

The Bibliotheca Alexandrina celebrates the “Open Access Week” for the second consecutive year, through workshops and a seminar held during the period from 22  to  25 October 2018.

It is worth noting that the world celebrates the “Open Access Week” annually at the last week of October to stress on the necessity of knowledge availability through  Open Access Publishing. In order to pave the way for the academia and the researchers community to recognize the potential benefits of open access publishing and to encourage more researchers to set “open access” as a new rule in published scientific research.

The “open access”  is a publishing rule that allows immediate, direct, free access to scientific research results (articles, books, scientific theses, etc) through the internet.

The BA welcomes visitors daily during this week to provide them with more information about “open access”. The information will be available in the “Open Access week Celebration” booth in the BA main entrance, from 10 am to 4:30 pm.

For more information about other  “Open Access Week Celebration” activities, please visit  the EVENTS SECTION on the BA website.
