The BA Antiquities Museum Organizes the “Excavations from the Egyptian Military History: The Eastern Gateway of Egypt” Lecture

The BA Antiquities Museum organizes a lecture titled “Excavations from the Egyptian Military History: The Eastern Gateway of Egypt” on Tuesday, 30 October 2018, 1:00 pm, BA Main Building, third floor (F3) Floating Room. The lecture is delivered by Dr. Mohamed Abd El Maksoud, Former General Secretary of the Supreme Council of Antiquities.
The Researcher will shed light on the unearthing of the archaeological sites at Habwa (1,2, and 3), the channel of the ancient Pelusiac branch of the Nile, and skeletal remains of crocodiles, affirming that the site matches the excavations and investigations of the city of Tjaru (or Tharo), located on an ancient military road (Horus Way)which stretches from Egypt to Palestine and is considered an eastern gateway to Egypt.
He will also present a number of artifacts and antiquities, with the name of the city of Tjaru inscribed on them, which were discovered in Tell-Habwa. These antiquities prove that the geographical discovery of the site matches the inscriptions of Seti I at Karnak—the oldest topographical map of the Eastern Gateway of Egypt.
