American Director Ross Kauffman at the BA

The BA Arts Center, in collaboration with the American Embassy in Cairo and American Film Showcase, organizes a meeting with American Director Ross Kauffman. The event is open for public and is held on Thursday, 31 October 2019, at 7:00 pm.

The meeting and discussion will be preceded by a screening of Kauffman’s latest film Tigerland, in the BACC Great Hall. The film takes place in Russia and India, and centers on the preservation of tiger species. It was shown at the 2019 Sundance Film Festival.

Ross Kauffman is a prominent director of documentary films. He is also a producer, cinematographer and editor who received international acclaim after winning an Oscar for Best Documentary for his film Born Into Brothels (2004), which he wrote and directed with Zana Briski. He worked on several documentaries for many TV networks, such as HBO, Discovery Channel, and National Geographic.
