The BA Wins the Top Prize at the 32nd Arab Federation for Libraries and Information Conference

The Bibliotheca Alexandrina took part in the 32nd round of the Arab Federation for Libraries and Information Conference, which was held in Cairo on 15 and 16 December, under the title “The Future of Arab Information Institutions in Light of Smart Technologies: A Strategic Vision 2050.”

The BA won the top prize in the initiative launched by the Arab Federation for Libraries and Information, which honors the libraries that best interacted with the coronavirus pandemic. The prize was awarded to the BA based on the activities and services offered by the Library from the onset of the pandemic to the present day, as the Library has organized several activities and specialized events that aim at providing interactive information services to the public.

The conference witnessed the participation of a number of Arab experts and specialists in the fields of libraries and information. It tackled numerous topics, such as smart libraries, the role of new technologies in the advancement of libraries and their digital platforms, the utilization of artificial intelligence technologies in the promotion and development of library services, as well as the readiness of libraries and information centers to apply these technologies in their reference services.
