“Underwater Cultural Heritage Education and Outreach in the Arab Region” in a Seminar at the BA

The BA Center for Hellenistic Studies, in cooperation with the UNESCO Chair for Underwater Cultural Heritage at Alexandria University and UNESCO Cairo Office, organizes a seminar titled “Underwater Cultural Heritage Education and Outreach in the Arab Region”. The event will witness the participation of a number of specialists from Alexandria University, UNESCO, The American University in Cairo, the National Committee for Education, Science, and Culture, the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, and the University of Exeter in the UK.

This seminar is held as part of the launching of the first open online educational program in Arabic in the field of underwater cultural heritage, and takes place on Thursday, 24 February 2022, at 11:00 am, in the BACC Lecture Hall.

The seminar aims to raise awareness among different segments of society in the Arab region about this type of heritage, the importance of its preservation, and its relationship with sustainable development.

The event is open for public through registration, in line with the precautionary measures taken to prevent the spread of the coronavirus pandemic. Attendance is limited and available until the maximum number of seats is reached. No attendees will be admitted without presenting a COVID-19 vaccination certificate.
