Traditional Crafts in “He Who Abandons His Past is Lost” in Sennary House

The BA Cairo-based Sennary House is organizing the “ He Who Abandons His Past is Lost” festival in which will be held during 9-15 September 2014.
The festival aims to introduce new generations to traditional crafts in Egypt, some of which are almost extinct, such as: the mat weaving, and the manufacturing of kilim rugs, which is considered to be one of the most prestigious crafts that dates back to the early Islamic Ages. There are also many cultural events that will accompany the festival, such as an introduction to Islamic arts as well as Islamic and Arabic calligraphy.
