Places as Time Carriers: Pieces of Memory and Narratives in the Mediterranean

Alexandria — Alexandria and Mediterranean Research Center (Alex—Med), in cooperation with the Centre d’études alexandrines (CNRS) and the Maison Méditerranéenne des Sciences de l’Homme (MMSH) is organizing a three-day workshop entitled Places as Time Carriers: Pieces of Memory and Narratives in the Mediterranean from September 1-4 2006 at the BA. Dr. Mohamed Awad, Director of Alex—Med and Dr. Jean Yves Empereur, Director of Research, Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS), and Director of the Centre d"Etudes Alexandrines will participate in the workshop.
Dr. Mohamed Awad stated that the events held by Alex—Med create a channel for dialogue, exchange, and cultural interaction among the peoples of the Mediterranean, who share their history, cultures, and geographic neighborhood.
The workshop be held at the BA 4th Floor Floating Room.
