Exhibition for Hellenic Books Donated to the Bibliotheca Alexandrina

Bibliotheca Alexandrina - in collaboration with the Greek Euro-dimension Limited - will hold an exhibition for the Euro-dimension donations on 4 November 2001. Euro-dimension is a cultural foundation, which specializes in prints and quality publications and, in particular, special editions pertaining to Hellenic civilization. All Euro-dimension publications are now deposited at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina. Hence, Dr. Ismail Serageldin, Director of Bibliotheca Alexandrina, decided to hold this exhibition in honor to Euro-dimension for its efforts in presenting the Hellenic civilization and its donations to the Bibliotheca Alexandrina. Meanwhile, a scientific symposium will be held in which Chairman of Euro-dimension, Dr. Panayiotis Michalopoulos will give a lecture on the Hellenic civilization, the historical continuity, timeliness and universality of its values. Dr. Youssef Zeidan, Head of Acquisition and Manuscript Departments, will also give a lecture on “The Relationship between the Hellenic Civilization and the Arab-Islamic Culture”.

Among the most prominent donated books are the following: Aegeum: The Cradle of Hellenism, East Macedonia and Thrace, Piraeus and Ports of the Mediterranean Sea, Lesbos by Aghios Efstratios, Hellas Still Making History: 5000 Years of Civilization, Peloponnesus: The Ark of Hellenic Civilization, Macedonia, Alexander the Great, Engravings of Cyclades, Engravings of Hydra, Homer: The Iliad, The Odessy.
