The BA Participates in the 18th Doha International Book Fair

Alexandria— The BA participates for the first time in the 18th Doha International Book Fair, 28 Novemeber-8 December 2007, upon an invitation by HRH Emir Mubarak Nassir Alkhalifa, Secretary General, National Council for Culture, Arts, and Heritage in Qatar (NCCAH).

Dr. Ismail Serageldin, Director of the Library of Alexandria, stated that the BA participates for the first time in this huge cultural event, as part of a partnership between the BA and the NCCAH. The BA offers special reduction on its publication in the Doha Book Fair.

The BA collection of Arabic, English, and French publications presented in the Fair include: The Digitization of Knowledge From Stone to Digital Age, Marvels of Arabic Calligraphy in Al-Busiri Mosque, The Arab Reform Observatory… Dilemmas and Indicators, The Birth of the Seventh Art in Alexandria Catalogue, and The History of Writings from Ideogram to Multimedia, which won the Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Science Award for the best translated book in the Arab region for the year 2006, in addition to other publications in arts and science.
