“Explore Japanese Traditional Culture” Workshop at the BA

Alexandria— The BA Child and Adolescent Creative Unit, is organizing on Friday, 19 December 2008, a Workshop on Japanese traditional culture with the Swedish choreographer Ami Skanberg. The workshop is designed for young people between 13 and 15 years old, in which they will learn to walk slowly and proudly like a Samurai, dance the cherry blossom dance, listen to 700 years old music and have a taste of green tea.

Educated in Sweden, Skanberg studied Japanese dance with Nishikawa Snrei and worked as a dancer, choreographer, actress, teacher and writer. She had several performances in Europe, USA, Argentina and Morocco. She has been to Egypt before, including twice in Alexandria, during which she showed her film in the Alexandria International Film Festival in 1999 and performed with the Alexandria Folklore Dance Group in 2002.
