The BA is participating in this year’s La Foire Internationale de Casablanca fair in response to an invitation from the Ministry of Culture of Morocco. Dr. Khaled Azab, Head of the BA Central Projects and Services Sector, stated that this participation is part of a continuous and constructive cooperation between the BA and the Ministry of Culture of Morocco, noting that Morocco was the guest of honor in the Library’s 2013 Book Fair.

In the past years, the BA reached out for several Moroccan scholars and thinkers, including the late Dr. Abdelhadi Tazi, Dr. Bensalem Himmich, and Dr. Al-Hassan al-Wazzan who greatly contributed to supporting and strengthening a sense of cooperation between Morocco and the BA.

The BA booth at this year’s fair has attracted a significant number of readers and visitors who showed special interest in various BA publications, such as Marased; Awrak; books of Arabic calligraphy, especially Diwan of Arabic Calligraphy in Egypt; and manuscript, documentation, and critical thought books. The BA plans to increase and expand its cooperation with a large number of Moroccan organizations and scholars in the fileds of digital documentation and humanitarian studies.
