The BA Signs Cooperation Agreement with the French National Center for Scientific Research

Dr. Moustafa Elfeki, Director of the BA, said that Modern Egypt was born with the advent of the French Expedition, and added thatr “Description de l'Égypte is still a witness to the cultural and scientific efforts made by the French Expedition, which was not only military.” This was part Dr. Elfeki’s address during the signing of the cooperation agreement between the BA and the French National Center for Scientific Research (Centre national de la recherche scientifique).

Dr. Elfeki asserted that three years of the French Expedition had a remarkable cultural impact on Egypt that was better than that of the British Occupation, which lasted 70 years. He emphasized the importance of the cultural relations between Egypt and France, and added that the cooperation between the BA and French cultural institutions should continue.

Mr. Antoine Petit, Director of the French National Center for Scientific Research, expressed his delight to visit Egypt as part of President Emmanuel Macron’s official visit, and stressed the importance of the cooperation between France and Egypt.

The event was attended by Mounir Fakhry Abdel Nour, Ambassador Mohamed Anis, Ambassador Fatma Alzahraa Itman, Dr. Hossam Badrawy, and a large number of journalists and those concerned with Francophone relations.
