A Forthcoming Collaboration between the BA and Onassis Foundation

Mr. Anthony Papadimitriou, President of Onassis Foundation, met with Dr. Moustafa Elfeki, Director of the BA, as part of the latter’s visit to Athens to attend the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA) Conference.
Mr. Papadimitriou expressed his appreciation for the regional and international role of the BA. He also promised to donate several publications and pieces of furniture belonging to Constantine Cavafy, and to consider taking part in the Antoniades Palace project, especially after it was restored by the BA. He also asserted that Onassis Foundation will return to the board of trustees of the BA Hellenistic Studies Center, especially after 18 Egyptian and foreign students enrolled in its PhD program this year.
Moreover, Dr. Elfeki and the accompanying delegation visited the office of the late billionaire Onassis, and explored his collection, including an original copy of the first edition of the Description de l'Égypte.
