“The History of Egyptians with Pandemics” in a New Issue of the Memory of Egypt Magazine

The Bibliotheca Alexandrina published the 41st issue of its quarterly magazine Memory of Egypt, which dedicated a special feature on the history of Egyptians with the pandemics, from Ancient Egypt to the modern age, as well as articles on the relation between pandemics and culture, and how the Egyptian cinema tackled this subject.
In addition, the issue includes important analytical articles on Eliyahu Hanavi Synagogue in Alexandria, which the Egyptian government had renovated and inaugurated earlier this year. It also comprises articles that discuss some aspects of policy and journalism during the reign of King Farouk I, extending the critical studies published in the last issue of the Magazine, which marked 100 years since he was born in 1920.
This issue of Memory of Egypt celebrates the centenary of Dr. Aziz Sedky, a prominent figure of the second half of the twentieth century. Dr. Moustafa Elfeki, Director of the BA and General Supervisor of the Magazine, dedicated his op-ed article to discussing Dr. Sedky’s career and its political milestones, as well as his relationship with his contemporary former presidents, and his role in supporting industries and politics. The Magazine also presents archival material and a collection of unique photos that document Dr. Sedky’s journey in the Egyptian public life.
