Alexandria, 10 March 2005—The Bibliotheca Alexandrina (BA), in association with the UK Friends of the Alexandria Library, is participating in the London Book Fair, held from 13 to 15 March 2005. A group of BA executives, headed by Dr. Youssef Zeidan, Director of the Manuscripts Center, will introduce the role BA plays as both a library and a cultural center with museums, exhibitions and research centers.

The BA pavilion will include a variety of printed and electronic works, presented by its different departments and affiliated research centers; computer screens displaying the BA website and virtual browsers for manuscripts and rare books; as well as a miniature replica of BA to demonstrate its architecture.

The London Book Fair attracts thousands of publishers and agents from all over the world and acts as a forum for information exchange and networking opportunities. It is targeted specifically to professionals within the publishing and agency industry.

The Book Fair takes place at Olympia Exhibition Centre in Kensington, London.
