BA Hosts “Global Vision” IFLA Workshop

Posted on

The BA and the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA) for Arabic-speaking countries are hosting the third regional workshop affiliated with the Global Vision initiative on Sunday and Monday, 21–22 May 2017.

Glòria Pérez-Salmerón, IFLA President-elect; Gerald Leitner, IFLA Secretary General; and a number of prominent representatives from all Middle Eastern and North African countries will participate in the workshop to examine ways through which a unified and integrated library system could better meet the challenges of the future.

The workshop follows the launch of the Global Vision Initiative, which took place in Athens in April 2017, and the success of two workshops held in North America and Africa, reaching Alexandria, Egypt—the third stop of its journey around the world.

It is worth mentioning that IFLA is the leading international body representing the interests of people who rely on libraries and information professionals.

IFLA has been organizing Global Vision talks through holding a series of prestigious meetings and workshops all over the world ever since the launch of the initiative in Athens on 4 April 2017. These talks will be held throughout the year, either face-to-face or electronically.

The Global Vision talks can be followed and watched here or through following the hashtag #iflaGlobalVision on Twitter and Instagram.
