“Green Economy: Concept and Practices” in a Webinar at the BA

The BA Center for Special Studies and Programs (CSSP), in cooperation with the World Academy of Sciences for the Advancement of Science in Developing Countries' Arab Regional Partner (TWAS-AREP), organizes a webinar entitled “Green Economy: Concept and Practices” on Monday, 15 November 2021, at 1:00 pm.

The webinar aims at discussing green economy in relation to sustainable development by exploring the following topics: the concept of green economy; why green economy matters; the public benefits of the green economy (especially for developing countries); the key players in the making of green economy; green economy and environmental sustainability; the role of academia in supporting the green economy (with special emphasis on what role young scientists can play in this regard); and sharing the best practices in applying the concept of green economy.

The webinar will be presented by Dr. Mohamed Abdrabo, Professor of Environmental Economics and Head of the Alexandria Research Center for Adaptation to Climate Change (ARCA), Alexandria University; and Dr. Hussein Abaza, Green Economy Expert, Senior Advisor to the Egyptian Minister of Environment, and Director of the Association for Environmental and Community Development (ACED), the Center for Sustainable Development Solutions (CSDS).
